Loose Parts Village

Monday the 24th of July marked the opening of a long-awaited project…the opening of our new Loose Parts Village.  Closed for less than ideal reasons, we decided to take the silver lining approach and ensure the remediation process left us with something truly remarkable for the children.  In line with our philosophy and pedagogy at Camp Hill OSHC, we wanted an area that fostered careful, considerate play where children can be constructive and creative and do so in a natural setting.  We wanted an area where children were encouraged and stimulated to push appropriate boundaries, overcome challenges and build resilience.  We believe our end product exceeds expectations.

Massive thanks must go to the school faculty, especially the principal Deborah Driver for her unwavering support for us in this project.  Our remediation plan was not the easiest, or the most cost effective. It was simply the best outcome for the children and this was made clear to the Department.  We are delighted and thankful to have been included as designers and advisers in the process and we are very excited to implement and observe some amazing play outcomes.

The team at OSHC
