Creative Dance

Camp Hill State Infants and Primary School has formed a partnership with a professional dance company to provide all students with a Dance program that is engaging, challenging and personally relevant to all year levels.

Students participate in a weekly dance class during one term each year.
The Dance program specifically teaches the Queensland Arts Curriculum dance component and adheres to the principles of the Government's Smart Moves Program.
Students will participate in a 30 minute dance class with 2 qualified dance instructors and their class teachers.  Class teachers will use this opportunity to assess the students in the area of dance under Queensland Curriculum Arts Subject.

Students from Prep to Year 3 learn Hip Hop dancing, classic progressive dances, fun disco and international dances, cultural and indigenous awareness.
This program promotes confidence, self-discipline, interaction, body and spatial awareness, enhances co-ordination, and is energetic and fun.

Year 4 to 6 students learn international and disco style as well as a Hip Hop routine that they will perform at the annual Dance Disco. These activities encourage appropriate conduct, interaction, comradeship and pride.
