Swimming

Our school is fortunate to have a 25 metre pool on campus.

We offer swimming for PE in terms 1 and 4 for Year 1 to 6.

Prep students commence their program in Term 4 due to regulations requiring children under the age of 5 to have one – on – one instruction whilst in the pool. This is not feasible at school.

As the swimming program constitutes a major part of the Physical Education curriculum, all students are obliged to attend. Students who are ill or injured will be excused, provided they present a valid reason in writing to their teacher.

Parent helpers are asked to not bring younger children to the pool when they are assisting with supervision or at any time when students are involved in swimming instruction).

In the Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 classes, three parent helpers/spotters per class are required to assist with supervision during swimming.

If the class does not have adequate volunteer ‘spotters’ classes will be cancelled.
