Prep Students - Understanding Asia

In line with the Australian Curriculum, Prep classes are beginning to learn about Australia's Engagement with Asia. The students have previously learned about China, Japan and Korea and are now finding out about countries in South East Asia. They have learned about Thailand and about some festivals, including the Candle Festival and the Rocket Festival. Students made rockets, learned about animals native to Thailand and listened to the numbers 1 - 10 in Thai.

Prep students are currently learning about Vietnam, with an emphasis on food and clothing, special places and learning a greeting in Vietnamese.

Students are discovering where all of these countries are in relation to Australia. They are sharing personal stories, and experiences with food and culture.
