Camp Hill State Infant School and Camp Hill Primary School became partner schools with the School of Education, Baylor University in the Study Abroad Program in 1992.  With the merger of the two schools the partnership continues providing opportunities for interns to participate in a variety of professional experiences.

In a three week teaching experience candidates co-teach with a mentor teacher, teach lessons and participate in special projects and research guided by a mentor teacher, University faculty, principal and deputy principals.

Through the year formal research projects have included studies in math and science. Geometric Thinking in Young Children and Understanding Fractions were projects in a prep class and a science project of understanding the seasons and science instruction in year four.

Outcomes of the research have been presented at national and international education conferences. A study of Fractional Understanding in Early Grades.: A partnership in Teacher Education was selected as a Research Highlighted Session at the 2009 Association of Childhood Education International Conference.  Other presentations from the math research were at the International Conference on Education in Honolulu, Hawaii, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators. An article, An Investigation of Fraction Models in Elementary Grades: A mixed Methods Approach was printed in the Journal of Research in Childhood Education, Jan.2015.

The science research focused on understanding of science instruction.  Outcomes were presented at the School Science and Mathematics National Conference and the International Conference on Education in Honolulu, Hawaii. The abstract of the presentation was published in the 2016 Conference Proceedings.
