Parental participation
We believe that parent participation is vital in the education of your children. By helping in class, attending swimming lessons, volunteering in Tuckshop and even helping with homework you are engaging with your child to provide enhanced opportunities for learning, and improved educational outcomes for all students.
Our school parents provide exceptional levels of assistance at all levels and we encourage you to become involved.
We also run a Class Parent Representative program which sees a parent(s) organising reminders and social events for their classes.
Staying informed
We provide many formal and informal opportunities for you to find out about your child's progress at school.
Electronic newsletter
We publish a fortnightly newsletter to inform you and community members about school activities, developments and initiatives.
This newsletter is distribute via email, the school website and the QSchools mobile app. Please email admin@camphillipss.eq.edu.au with any changes to your contact details.
If you are unable to receive newsletters electronically, please let our office staff know and we will arrange a paper copy for you.
Parent information evenings
Parents are invited to meet with their classroom teacher early in the school year, to discuss the learning planned for the year and classroom routines.
Parent/teacher meetings
At the end of terms 1 and 3, parents are invited to book an individual appointment with classroom teachers to discuss their children’s progress.
Reporting to parents
Teachers prepare formal, written reports for each student at the end of terms 2 and 4. We send these home with students, usually in the last week of these terms.
Personal appointments
Parents are encouraged to remain in close contact with their child’s teacher throughout the year, either via phone, email or face-to-face discussions. As teachers generally require the time before school for preparation, if you need an extended discussion, please contact the school office or your child’s teacher to make an appointment at a convenient time.
Notes
We will often send you notes via your child. They will be provided via email and students in younger grades will usually bring them home in their ‘daily folder.’ Please help your child to develop a habit of giving you any notes each day to ensure they do not miss out on activities, and to save much time following up misplaced notes.
Please return notes to the classroom teacher rather than the office as this enables teacher to keep necessary records. Payments, however, should go to the office.
Noticeboard
There is a community noticeboard on each campus of the school. If you have a notice you wish to display, please hand it in at our office for approval.
School website
Our school website is used to provide general operating information along with announcements and event reminders. Should you feel any information you required is missing from the website please contact admin@camphillipss.eq.edu.au
QSchools smartphone app
The QSchools app integrates with our school website to allow you to see when news, events and newsletters are posted to their favourite school website. Users can also see other useful information provided by the school such as tuckshop menus, uniform shop information, etc.
