Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education. It is compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1. Prep is a full-time program in primary schools and the Australian curriculum.
To enrol in Prep, children must be aged five by 30 June in the year of proposed attendance.
Early or delayed entry to Prep options may be considered in specific circumstances and only where it is in a child's best educational interest.
To determine when your child can commence their prep year, use the online calculator.
Expressions of interest for Prep are accepted via email from the first day of Term 1, the year prior to your child commencing Prep. You are more than welcome to complete the Expression of Interest Form with the understanding that acceptance of all Prep enrolments will be confirmed when a Letter of Offer has been issued, later in the year.
