On Wednesday 7 June our Readers' Cup team represented the school at the CBCA Brisbane Central Readers' Cup event. This event involved students in Years 5 & 6 from 26 primary schools. Grace, Rory, Eve, Isla and Sofia had prepared conscientiously for this day for nine weeks, reading and studying 5 current children's books. This event consisted of 50 questions, with 2 points awarded for each question. The competition was the closest it has ever been, with only 2 points separating 1st and 3rd place.
Camp Hill achieved an amazing third place out of 26 schools! This result is testament to their hard work, commitment and perseverance.
They also had the privilege of hearing local author Samantha Wheeler talk about her books and her life as a writer.
I was fortunate to accompany this group and was proud of their attitude and behaviour. Years 4 & 5 students may like to consider trying out for the 2024 team in March next year.
