We value open communication with parents and carers and provide feedback on student achievement through two primary formats:
- Academic report cards at the end of each semester (Terms 2 and 4)
- Parent-Teacher Conferences, held early Terms 1 and 3
Written reports reflect students' knowledge and understanding of the concepts and skills taught and assessed during the semester. These reports are based on a range of summative assessment tasks and monitoring strategies, with student achievement evaluated using a five-point scale aligned with the Australian Curriculum year-level achievement standards.
Students also receive regular feedback through a variety of formal and informal methods, including teacher conferences, written and verbal feedback, peer feedback, and self-reflection. This comprehensive approach ensures students are supported in their learning and development, empowering them to take ownership of their progress and success.
Academic report cards
Report cards remain an important way for schools and families to communicate about student learning. They provide a snapshot of a child's progress and achievements. Academic reports are distributed to parents on the final day Terms 2 and 4.
Academic report cards for students in Years 1- 6 will include:
- An achievement mark and an effort mark for each learning area
- An overall behaviour result
For Prep students:
- Academic achievement and effort will be reported for English, Mathematics, and Health & Physical Education (HPE)
- Effort marks will be provided for other learning areas
Reporting for Health & Physical Education (HPE)
- HPE will be reported as one combined learning area across all year levels and both semesters
- Families will see one achievement grade and one effort mark for HPE
Please note: Parents will see written comments on report cards, allowing teachers to focus on meaningful learning experiences while still ensuring families receive clear and consistent information about student achievement and effort.
