The Science learning area in the Australian Curriculum inspires curiosity and a sense of wonder about the natural world. It empowers students to explore, question, and understand the biological, physical, chemical, Earth, and space sciences.

Through hands-on investigations and inquiry-based learning, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. They learn to apply scientific methods, evaluate evidence, and communicate their findings effectively.

The curriculum emphasises the importance of science in everyday life, technological advancements, and addressing global challenges. It also acknowledges the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to scientific knowledge, fostering respect for diverse perspectives.

By engaging with science, students are prepared to make informed decisions, contribute to innovation, and appreciate the role of science in shaping our world.
