The Technologies learning area in the Australian Curriculum equips students with the skills and knowledge to create, innovate, and solve real-world problems in an ever-evolving technological world. It is divided into two subjects: Design and Technologies and Digital Technologies.

In Design and Technologies, students learn to design, produce, and evaluate solutions for a range of needs, using creativity and practical skills. They explore materials, tools, and processes to develop sustainable and innovative designs.

In Digital Technologies, students develop computational thinking and problem-solving skills. They learn to design and create digital solutions, such as coding, programming, and working with data, while understanding the ethical and responsible use of technology.

The Technologies curriculum prepares students to thrive in a technology-driven future, fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and adaptability.
